Created for the "Blue Geisha" Restaurant in Tokyo Japan. The image is erotic and exotic contemporary art. A merging of the classic Japanese elegant geisha with a decided modern spirit. The Japanese Geisha’s body is painted in white with tan highlights to show both the crispness and curvature of her face and smile. Slicked back blue tinted hair, white eyelashes, blue lipstick with complementary eye makeup complete the look of the Blue Geisha. A large black-silhouetted tribal dragon tattoo wrapped around one breast and following the curvature of her abdomen, ends on her belly button. A gold eye-ring and gold nipple-ring adds to the air of this exotic sultry woman. I wanted a face and expression, which looked back at you as you investigated the scene. The geisha is sitting in a pool of blue water. The water refracts the light and bends the dragon tattoo into focus. Multiple light sources of pale blue, white and salmon add incredible depth to the artwork. The Blue Geisha restaurant logo is carved of a blue-green ice, its reflection shimmering in the water. Spotlights highlight the trapped water bubbles and melting surface of the ice. In the far background is a blue-green stellar nebula, which merges into the fog layer that covers the rippling water.

The genius behind the lipstick is Sarah Laidlow - her second consecutive cover for us. I hope you like it - I thought we needed some cheering up.
